Hi there! I am new at gardening and recently started a veggie and herb garden. The old neighbor left me with what is now a huge zucchini plant and it looks great but it started gettting blackish looking roots and is now 'spreading' and some of the branches are wilting and withering up. He also left a nice compost pile which I am afraid has white flies in it although they seem more interested in my tomato plants (help with those naturally would be great too!). I have been composting with it although I stopped recently and am not sure if I am just over-watering the zucchini or if it has a disease or what...

I don't get to water all the plants every day, but for the most part, I give them a drink in the evening after I get home from work and there is still some light out. Days off I try more to water in the mornings.

I love my little plants and so far they are doing great, but the zucchini and white flies are making me nervous. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome! It is an organic garden too, so any further tips on natural help would be excellent! Thank you! :)
